What are the different NT names for pastor?

There are 3 terms used to describe the same office of pastor:

  • Elder.

  • Overseer, sometimes translated bishop.

  • Pastor, this is the Latin word (transliterated) for shepherd.

Elder is the most commonly used word in the NT, then overseer, then pastor or shepherd.

An elder is an overseer and pastor (shepherd), an overseer is an elder and pastor (shepherd), and a pastor (shepherd) is an elder and overseer.
